The Lake Area Industry Alliance and member companies along with The Center for the Advancement of Process Technology and the National Science Foundation sponsored the 2006 STeP Summer Institute. This year's camp was held at McNeese State University on June 12 th -16 th and introduced campers to the field of Process Technology.  

The students worked in groups on many hands-on activities dealing with operations. This year, they put their science skills to the test as they made such products as lip gloss, root beer, and ice cream. The students were able to speak with others from the industry about the opportunities available to them in the field of process technology and they were also given tours of local plants, where they met the operators responsible for running them. Special thanks to everyone that participated and everyone who helped make this year's camp a true success!
