Toxic Release Inventory Program

The Toxic Release Inventory Program, or TRI, is a joint effort between industries and local, state and national regulatory agencies, providing communities the facts about certain toxic chemicals released into the air, water and land. TRI reports are maintained at and

LAIA entered into a voluntary study with the EPA and LDEQ in 2001. Five monitoring sites were selected. The EPA and LDEQ led the oversight and auditing of the study and the site operation. Over 90,000 air quality measurements were analyzed during the study. All were well within compliance standards. While the initial agreement timeframe has expired, LAIA voluntarily agreed to continue funding a portion of the air quality monitoring systems in cooperation with the LDEQ.
