Brief History of Facility
The Lake Charles facility was built in 1969 and operated as Consolidated Aluminum Corporation until December, 1983, when it was purchased by Reynolds Metals Company. The plant is located on Highway 384 (Big Lake Road) on the Industrial Canal, affording the capability of receiving ocean going ships and barges for loading and unloading at its dock.

At no time will any off-plant agencies be allowed to enter the Plant for any reason except when requested. Should the news media or regulatory agencies request information pertaining to an emergency or request to enter the Plant, they are to be detained at the Main Gate until clearance has been authorized by the following:

In most cases, they will be briefed in the Human Resoures Conference Room by one of the above.
If the incident occurs on the back shift and the Human Resources Representatives and/or Plan Manager are not on site to handle calls or visitors, inform the caller or visitors that a plant spokesperson is in route to the site. When the Plant spokesperson arrives on site and obtains the information, he will issue a statement.
